The Anambra State Government has officially revoked the rights, titles, and Certificates of Occupancy of properties located along the 60-meter corridor road, Trans Nkisi Layout, Onitsha North. This development includes plots like C/42 – CP/48 and affects even those with valid C of O title documents.
This revocation is part of the state’s plan to expand infrastructure and reclaim the area for public use. Unfortunately, unsuspecting buyers are at serious risk, as some property owners may try to sell off these flagged areas before the government enforces demolition.
Why Should You Be Concerned?
Many people trust a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) as proof of a safe investment. However, in cases like this, even a C of O does not protect you any longer if the government revokes the land for public interest.
A senior police officer and a seasoned property lawyer explains:
- The legal implications of land revocation;
- What happens to investors with valid titles??
- The danger of buying from desperate sellers;
